Susan is a cheerful, always smiling, polite girl who had a rather difficult start in life. She was born October 18, 2005 at 25 weeks gestation, weighing 700 grams, measured 35 cm. For a long time lay in the incubator until the age of 43 she began to breathe independently, without the aid of a respirator.
Shortly after the birth of Susan had her first surgery, closure of patent ductus Botalla, it was a cardiac surgery. She had a grade IV intracranial bleeding, which resolved after antibiotic therapy, but left behind some havoc in the brain and hydrocephalus. Too much pressure to not damage the more fluid of the brain, a shunt was inserted, which is responsible for draining excess fluid from the skull.
Another bad experience was a little Susan retinopathy of prematurity, and that more was needed did not follow the next procedure, it was a laser. Thanks to Susan sees, but her eyesight is very poor and still deteriorating. In addition to squint and nystagmus.
The result of all this Susan has increased muscle tone right, and is developing more slowly than their peers. She began to walk after completing three years of age and soon began to speak the first words.
Despite all these adversities Susan is a cheerful girl who only occasionally shows his tiny horns. He does very good progress in rehabilitation. All those who work with Zuzia praise and admire, that is doing so well and although initially very optimistic negotiations is developing very well as to your abilities.
In raising such a child that is Susan, you need a lot more patience, but this pays off and everyone, even the smallest progress, the smallest doubly happy new skill.
We all love ZUZIA!
